LCMHC Vermont licensure information:

The Vermont Board of Allied Mental Health Practitioners, located in the Secretary of State's Office of Professional Regulation (OPR), licenses mental health counselors who have met the criteria set forth in statute and rules promulgated by the Vermont state legislature. 

Vermont Telehealth Registrations and Licensing information:

Out-of-state counselors can now legally provide telehealth services to a Vermont resident. Information on how to do this can be found on the OPR website at the link below:

Vermont OPR has created some new options in an effort to reduce the barriers for people getting licensed. Specifically they have created options for:

  • Fast Track Endorsement
  • Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, and Active-Duty Spouses
  • Foreign Trained Professionals, New Americans & Refugees
  • Individuals with Criminal Backgrounds
